has developed what they claim to be the world's smallest hard drive. Available in 8 and 10 GB models, its makers have slimmed down previous iterations into a matchbox sized package. Cornice believes this advance will inspire the creation of even smaller consumer electronics, especially benefiting mobile handsets. These storage devices will also be sold as stand-alone products and will include a built-in USB connector. Retailing for $18.50 per gigabyte, its slightly more than 50% the price of flash memory sold at bulk quantity. The hard drives will be showcased at this week's CES show marketed under the Dragon Series name.Read the press release.
