World's Longest Suspension Bridge To Be Built In Italy

Trumping the record-holding 1991 meter Akashi-Kaikyo, construction links

of a nearly 4 kilometer (2.5 mile) six lane suspension bridge connecting Italy's mainland and Sicily has been announced for completion as soon as 2012. Currently, the only way to transverse the Messina strait takes two hours via train and ferry.

'Man's endurance in dealing technology comes in a great feat also in dealing the length of supression by suspending it's unlimited distance'. Joining the vertical competition in building skyscraper, now by horizontal. It's a great challenge but there's a limit - nature. Man's destruction on environment will be the future's treath on man's extreme ambition, in a suspense way (e.g. climate change etc). -Jon
