Where Will Our Cars Take Us in the Future?

Where Will Our Cars Take Us in the Future?
Not so much where will we go, but how will we get there? If our lives our truly going to become George Jetsonesque, then perhaps a better term to call them would be vehicles. Or we can resort to the historical term of "automobile" since that is essentially what a car is. But will a car really be a car 10 or even 5 years down the road? Look here for some speculations on what this author postulates as to what will happen to the way you drive. In fact, this author is bold enough to suggest that we won't be driving at all by some point, that our vehicles will be "self-driven". I also like the idea of a car that comes equipped with dual sided iPod stations and a computer screen.

You know, I have actually seen a PT Cruiser have the console redesigned by its owner to install a mini computer, and many cars nowadays have MP3 capabilities. So I think the 2011 prediction of the iPod insert may even be stretched as many of these things are already happening. And who knows whether we will ever be driving hybrid carslinks? Again this was once a novelty. Yet, now serious eco-friendly politically correct bonus points are given to anyone that drives one. And speaking of the self-driving car, have you seen some of the new Lexus models? The cars park themselves. Not drive, but park. So the baby "miles" have already started to take shape. I think this author was underestimating his projections. However, given what some of them were, it is kind of exciting to think these are the things we will be driving in the not so distant future.
