Gold Medal Winner: The Bio-Tech Medical award was given to 454 Life Sciences, for the development of a chip that can decode the human genome 100 times faster then previous methods, thus making it viable for the analysis of genetic conditions in medical diagnosis.
Silver Medal Winner: The Materials award was given to Ecology Coatings for creating an environmentally friendly easily applied finish for preparing products like plastic and paper that can not withstand high temperatures.

Medal Winner: The Semiconductor award was given to Alien Technologies for a low-cost method of quickly manufacturing RFID tags.Read the article.
