The Walk for the Morning Paper Is Getting Shorter

It is true, our generation prefers the electronic media. It's faster, more convenient, and the delete button is a much more viable waste removal alternative as opposed to the bin outside collecting mountains of formerly known trees. However again, this society is not composed entirely of our generation. There are people that actually get out of bed in the morning and look forward to that jaunt down the driveway in their housecoats to grab their paper. No, their neighbors may not look forward to their daily grand entrance into the free world scantily clad, but this is a tradition that maybe should stick around a little bit longer. No, it is not eco-friendly nor cost effective. But how many retirees do you think actually relish
the thought of uploading newsworthy HTML as opposed to sitting down with their coffee and paper in the morning. They are out there, but few and far between. The thought of traditions such as this becoming an element of history is a little sad, and to me, our world can still employ futuristic technology without forcing everything into electronic form. To answer the author's title question, I hope that hardcopy newspapers survive for some time, the ink is a nuisance but not enough for me to forego this habit completely.
