Text To Pay Meterless Parking With Your Cell Phone

New Zealand is testing a new meterless pay-to-park system next year that enables users to pay parking fees with their cell phones. To pay for a parking spot, users would text message a designated phone number with an SMS code for the parking lot and zone where their car is located. The parking fee would be automatically billed to your cell phone subscription account as a text message. Metermaids would levy fines using an automated system to check whether purchased parking time had expired by checking a sticker users will have to put in a front windshield that denotes a car's identity.
