Technology Really Is Making Our World a Better Place
If you take a look at this article you will see some pretty exciting things happening in the world right now, as we speak. The article shows a graphic of the world's countries indicating by color which are the more developed ones. Back in 1975, the UN had reported that only 20 nations at that point had received what is considered "developed" status. What this meant was that the country's wealth indices were higher compared to its poverty indices. As of 2003, 57 countries have received this developed status. These changes are being attributed to what the author refers to as a diffusion of technology and also to the United States being the world's dominant economic model.

This is pretty exciting. What this suggests is that as technology is expanding within the US to make American lives easier, it is effectively enhancing the economic model and quantitatively establishing the United States as the economic leader of the world. With an exponential rate of seemingly almost 100% every ten years, it is an indicator of how long it will take for more of those "redder" countries to go to green.

It is food for thought for sure, as the developed countries of the world work hard to provide assistance to the Third World. Nothing drives me crazier than when people complain about giving money to underdeveloped countries saying the money should go to the people "at home" who need it. Little do they realize that with the rise of technology and the advancements that they put into their home every day they are doing just that. It is something of a rebirth of the industrial revolutionlinks, isn't it?
