Nike's latest sneaker, the Air Max 360, marks the first time foam has been completely been removed foam from a shoe's midsole section, leaving only a pocket of air to cushion feet. This process has taken over 25 years to complete. Nike included air for the first time in 1979 and subsequent refinements allowed them to construct their shoes with a higher percentage of air in their products. These sneakers go on sale tomorrow and will cost $230 USD.

"We have finally reached our goal of putting as much air as possible into a running shoe."
