Indian Ocean Tsunami Detector For Mobile Phones

Following last year's Indian Ocean tsunami catastrophe, there were immediate calls for the development of new tsunami advance warning systems. Software developer Tea Vui Huang has released Mobile Tsunami Detector 1.0 for cell phone use, which can be downloaded for free at his site. Serving only countries that border the Indian Ocean, the program sends alerts including probability and impact time of an impending tsunami to handsets using live data from the US geological links
