ID Cards a Thing of the Past in Some Universities...

Gone are the good old days where students could walk into a campus building and hope to be able to use the facilities either through ID card usage or the old fashioned "you know me" approach. In a day and age where school shootings are sadly becoming a regular topic of conversation, this comes as no surprise.

Universities across America are beginning to launch futuristic biometrics into their ID systems to scan student's hands before allowing entry into the building.

san diegolinks State University is one of the first to apply this technology which is meeting with great success. Not only is it a reliable and safe method of allowing access, but it is convenient for students who consistently forget or lose their ID cards. Do I hear some sighs of relief?
