I Still Don't Quite Understand the Concept

Let's go all-American on this and restrict this discussion to the Big Three - Ford, GM, and Chrysler. These companies work hard every year to blast out concept vehicles
for the auto show to create a buzz. Whose will be the best this year? What most people don't get is that these cars are often one of a kind and cost millions of dollars to make. It is no secret that the auto industry is in a bit of a slump? But I think working towards a more effective economy in America would prove better for these giants than creating display vehicles that no one ever really drives. Give people what they will use. What is so difficult about that?
Does anyone understand that since 2001, Ford has laid off almost 5000 employees? There are some still pending by the way. Being futuristic is all well and good, but let's feed our families first, shall we?
