Google users in China had unfettered access to search results from its U.S. site, but will now redirect queries made within Chinese borders to a government regulated Google.cn portal, which launched today.When results have been removed, the user will be notified by a message from Google disclosing exempted content. Microsoft and Yahoo already operate under this policy, allowing them direct access to China's growing Internet user-base of 100 million people. The Congressional Human Rights Caucus will meet Febuary 1st to discuss legislation requiring U.S.-based companies to abide by 1st amendment rules in international business.
