Well, now you can, thanks to General Motors Pontiac that is spending a fortune on creating a make-believe life outside of your real world.

This pretend life includes pretend car dealerships with pretend cars that sell for as little as a few dollars. It is called the Second Life and it is an online virtual world.

You can move, talk, walk, and make friends with other pretend people and even teleport yourself if you want to. You can pick a representation of yourself, or hey, why not shavelinks off a few pounds and redesign yourself when you are purchasing a vehicle you can't afford in the real world anyway.

It is tremendously successful with about 1.2 million users currently. No prizes for guessing why!
