Electricity Going Wireless

Electricity Going Wireless
MIT researchers have developed a new concept they are calling "WiTricity" which is essentially wireless electricity. The concept is that electricity will be transmitted as a magnetic field with receivers in strategic locations - kind of like cell towers.

I can understand how this will make for easier transfer of electricity in the big wide world, but I am suddenly picturing all kinds of magnetic things floating around in the universe. Is this safe? I am thinking along the lines of health and environment. Do we really want to be exposed to a bunch of magnetic fieldslinks everyday?

I am sure there will be air testing on this interesting concept. Let's see how things pan out.
