Despite the stereotype that early adopters of technology trends are primarily young urban dwellers, a new study concludes that the demographics comprising the quick to adopt gadget crowd transcends income levels, population density, or geographic location. I found one of the more surprising conclusions of this study to be that many of the counties with the highest percentages of early technology adoption are in Utah and Colorado. A definitive assessment by USA Today, who conducted the study, is that those who regard digital advances as a lifestyle movement (ie, younger people) are more likely to spend a larger portion of their total income on technology based products and services.
