Death Is a Disease - Immortality Is the Cure

than our grandparents did. As always, human nature still longs for more. Now that we have longer life spans, the next hurdle is immortality.
Man has always hoped to find immortality, and he seems closer to finding it today, than in any period in the past. In fact, according to studies by Sir Paul Nurse, cells have the potential of being immortal. In January 2007, CNN reported that researchers at the University of Texas (my alma mater) had discovered a cellular "fountain of youth" which would help avoid aging and cell death, and keep people healthier for longer.
The pharmaceutical and chemical industries have taken long strides in adding more years to our lives. Mass production of drugs and their accessibility is an aspect of the world today. Today we have cures and preventive measures for most of the common diseases that afflict us. Is it that difficult to imagine finding a "cure" for death?
