Auto-Surveillance System Detects Driver Fatigue

Volvo safety engineers have devised a new surveillance system which purportedly detects irregular vehicle movements caused by driver fatigue. Sensors embeddedlinks in a camera mounted between the windscreen and rear view mirror detect the distance between the moving vehicle and road markings and cause an alarm to sound if inconsistencies develop. Volvo hopes to have this feature available in its cars within two years.
