About Me

My name is Jonathan Cohen and I have a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Binghamton University. I'm a Marketing Associate at SiteAdvisor, which is an exciting place to be. Our focus on pre-emptive Web-based security is a novel approach to solving the problem of Internet annoyances. The service (free of charge) launches in March.
I am currently in the process of applying to Communications graduate programs. Ultimately, I plan on pursuing a doctorate and will subsequently teach at a collegiate level as a vocation. I live in Brooklyn, NY.
Feel free to e-mail me with any comments, questions, and/or suggestions for Philoneist. My personal e-mail address is JonathanGCohen(-at-)gmail.com.
I am passionate about cultivating ideas in any arable environment. My technological interests are varied, including digital media consumption, social networking applications on the internet, human-computer interaction, communications, and the nexus of cultural and technological determinism. Above all, I'm compelled to analyze how computer applications affect the heart rather then how they can augment the brain.
My hobbies include screenwriting, electronic music composition
(FL Studio), taking in a movie or TV show, games, and travelling. This past July I travelled 6,000 miles on USA roads with college friends. Hopefully, before I start graduate school in the fall of 2006 (that is, if I'm accepted where I apply), I'll have the means to travel abroad as well.I created Philoneist to fill a void in tech and science news reporting that often relegates cultural relevance someplace "after the jump" while concentrating on product announcements and launches. I hope to provide an unbiased record of scientific innovations that galvanize you to think about the extent to which technology is impacting your world.
