However that might change and we have in the past reinvigorated sites after some time.

Would you be willing to go under a scalpel held by a robot?

Do not dismiss the idea as being bizarre. Doctors in the United Kingdom have begun to use a robotic arm to carry out intricate heart surgery.

Surgeries that require a high degree of skill could be farmed out to specialist robots that are maneuvered by a joystick. This would make the procedure quicker and more accurate.

The process is yet to be fully automated. However, that does not seem to be too distant a possibility. Given the limited number of experts and the large number of patients, human doctors might soon have competition from their robotic counterparts.

Fashion in Outer Space? Title: Fashion in Outer Space?

Are spacesuits on their way to becoming fashionable? Researchers at MIT have been designing and developing a slimmer and sleeker spacesuit for astronauts. However, this does not mean that NASA will have to become fashion conscious. These new space outfits are meant to be an improvement on the bulky outfits that are currently in use.

In fact, when I read about the new spacesuit, I couldn't help wondering how astronauts have managed to move around in space in their cumbersome outfits for so long. But thanks to the new body-hugging, elastic spacesuit that is being designed, spacewalkers might soon be going trekking in space. This should mark a whole new era in space exploration.

Well, not all of them, just one in particular.

A 27 year old Iraq war veteran who lost his hand has been outfitted with a new robot hand that has movable fingers that flex. The hand is called the iLimb and is one of the first of its kind available to wounded soldiers. It contains 5 individual motors that allow it to be used just like a real hand. It is even covered with something that looks like human skin.

I think this is great and it has the potential to offer hope to a lot of soldiers out there. There is no "good side" to being wounded soldiers. However, knowing that being wounded is not the end of the world must be very comforting.

Harvard University is proud to announce their first robot insect! This insect is similar in both weight and size to a hornet and can land on branches, window panes, and light fixtures, and do all the things that real hornets can do.

Is anyone ELSE wondering why? I mean, is it not bad enough that we have to contend with the real thing, now we've got robotic insects flying around?

Military intelligence is one possible practical application. However, I really don't see a need for private use of these critters. And again, if these are being developed for military spying, is it really wise to be publishing reports like this? Just a thought.

There are freebies and there are freebies. Leather bags with magazine subscriptions; ipods for the lucky cell phone buyers; a chance to meet your favorite celebs - these are freebies that we have been getting for years now.

Well, the freebie business just took a great leap forward. Imagine a soap that sends you to the moon. With space tourism becoming all the rage, it was inevitable that we'd someday stop being sent on world cruises. Nowadays, if you are the lucky one, you can get into your free space suit (you actually get to keep it) and rocket off into outer space.

A free trip to the moon! I wonder if I could win one of those....

From the looks of this article, it seems that New York City is jumping on to the environmentally friendly bandwagon and going eco-friendly with their taxi system.

All taxis are apparently going hybrid apparently. This is what Michael Bloomberg said on the Today Show the other day. But wait! Correct me if I am wrong: Isn't this an election year?

Hmm....Well Ford will like this contract for sure and they could use it. But who is paying the Ford bill do you think? New York City taxpayers must be jumping up and down and clapping their hands on this one!! Talk about an "inconvenient truth"....
